    It has been 6 months

It is 6 months to the day since I had to make the difficult decision to put my boy to sleep. I know there are allot that have to make this same decision. After 6 months I still miss him every day but can say I am very glad I made that decision for him. To all that are faced with this, good luck to you and just know when your gut tells you it’s time follow your gut. He gave me 12 years of complete devotion and dedicated friendship by my side through good and bad times and I am thankful to have known him. These were taken on his last day; I took the day off work and got to spend every hour with him.

after that long they are family no matter what non pet owners think but you have to make the decision for them for their own good I still miss mine and couldn't replace her to this day sometimes would like to but just can't bring myself too.

Tom, how was the fishing show? Sorry I didn't make it down, I spend all week in Detroit in meetings for the auto show and didn't feel like driving back down yesterday morning.

We had to have our Lab put down on Christmas Day three Christmas's ago,,we went a little over two years before getting another dog. We brought home our new Lab pup a couple of weeks ago and I know now that I waited too long to get another one. I told my best freind when he lost his Lab that God made their lives shorter than ours so we could have so many great freinds!! There is a puppy out there looking for you

I have been there several times. The more you love them the harder it is when the time comes. They truely are family. It is hard to know when it is time. I try and think what would I want done if it was me. I am glad you got to spend the last day with her.

Toughest decision I have ever made. I chose to be there with her when she went. Not a good Idea for me ....... I'm haunted by her death.

    Miss her very much.

What a sweet, sweet face!!!! My 9 yr old rescue has the same eyebrows and muzzle.

I understand your heartache. I have been there far too many times, but they will be waiting. I just know that!!!!

Stumbled on your post... Very sorry for your loss! I know exactly how you feel. We usually keep three Springers at a time, have two right now... I believe our friends know and appreciate that it is our hand on thier head when thier pain fades. You can never replace, but I would definately recommend bringing another pup into the family! It's always helped us.
    Take care.
