Just curious if anyone knows anything about lake Iowa.
I went out there for the first time this past weekend, had just 4 hours to fish. Managed to boat about 20, half of which were keepers and one went a little over 2 1/2 pounds (not to mention 11 1/2" bluegill). I had heard that lake was drained just 3 or 4 years ago. If it had, I was pretty impressed with the fish I caught. Didn't know if anyone knows if that was true or not.
Been wanting to hit that lake for the last couple of years and never have. may have to swing over there and check it out.Haven't heard anything about it being drained recently though.
It was my first time there, nice little lake. A lot of wood and submerged trees, nothing like belva deere. You could fish the whole thing in less then a day, easy. Pretty shallow overall. Most depths ran from3-6', the whole north end seemed to be about 2'. The nice thing was that it is under 100 acres, 86 to be exact, but they still permit you to run your big motor at no wake speed. It kind of reminded me of being on the otherside of the causeway at Macbride, similar lay out and cover.
