    Southern Boy Headed North

Hey guys, I will be up in Iowa for 3 weeks in May. I would like to make a fishing trip on the 16th or 17th of May, but I don't know anything about the area or where to start. I have never fished outside of South Louisiana before so I'm looking forward to trying something new. Can someone help a fellow BBCer out?? My email address is chiassonbobby@johndeere.com for any info.

Well your a few hours away from myself and some of the others, but your only a stones throw away from saylorville and also lake red rock, which both have good fishing. Hopefully you can find somebody to hook up with.

Hey Jeff, I work for John Deere now. We used to be Cameco until Deere bought us out here in Thibodaux. How do you know about Cameco? Are you affiliated with Deere also?

I work at the tractor assy plant, the axles used to be made in Waterloo at drivetran but not sure if they do anymore. You guys build sprayers don't you? those cabs are still made here I think along with cabs for the 5000/6000 also. We build the 7-8-9000's here.

We used to build the sprayers at one time. They are now building them back in Des Moines Works. We build all the Sugarcane Harvesters here plus the Landscape Loaders, Sugarcane Loaders, & Earth Moving Scrapers.

I heard a rumor that they were going to start making the cabs at Harvester.

Could be with some of the cabs for utility tractors but the 7&8000 will start using the same cab before long, they have the Universal cab line starting up in a couple of months.

Would there be some place I can just fish from the bank around Ankeny? Im flying out this Sunday & wanted to know if I should even bother trying to bring a Rod-n-Reel along.

Ya may wanna check out Lake Don Williams. It's by Boone which I don't think is too far. Some quality fish in there if the weather cooperates. Not sure what else is close to that area. Don't get out that way much except our tournaments at Don Williams.
