Control Cable ...????!!!!!! Explanation...???!!!

First time out, everything seemed o.k..
Second time out, lose of hole shot, no top end.
Third time out , (new plugs,) same as second time only a little worse.
Talked it over with a fellow bassman, (Plugs, wires,etc.) then the light bulb came on, pulled the cover, and realized I wasn't getting full throttle. Ran out of adjustment still no full throttle.
Changed cable and back to norm. Any explanations to what happened to the cable???
It would've had to shorten somehow?????.....!!!! Totally confused.....

Check the clamp where the cable outer jacket of the cable is secured to the motor.

Clamp was allright, I adjusted the remainder of threads on cable.

Is the cable mounted in a control box or does it have a foot throttle?

There's your answer. the control cable is out of sync at the foot. the core wire is not travelling as far as it should.

At the motor end of the cable there's approx. 1/2inch of play.
