Nosecone ?

What would be better for my application? I have a 2000 225 V-max. I was told i needed a nosecone,or an hpdi lower unit. I know the price difference,but I have a phase 3 kit installed and I am worried about getting out of control over 83mph GPS. what is the difference in getting a nose cone on the unit i have or getting an HPDI L/U?

i believe that the HPDI lu has different gears. you should have 1.81 in your current gear case. i have bob's lwp w/nose cone. it will allow you to come up higher than HPDI because HPDI is not a true lwp. it is still on the side of the gear case. i think bob's would be cheaper too!

call hydrotec and see if the have an hpdi with the mods done to it.
my lower unit has water pickups on the bottom of the nose cone.

I would try and trade someone for the hpdi LU with 1.75 gears. You will be able to run props 1-2 pitchs lower and run faster/safer. A one piece LU is better than an add on cone.

mike, is that true lwp on the hpdi lu? i might have spoke out of place.

My HPDI LU only sux water from the bottom/side of the nose through a screen. I have run above the pad w/o any water pressure issues.

+1 good for about 4 mph on my 210 over stock hpdi l/u.

Mike's fish are shallow, me thinks he's on a top water bite.

I've got a Titus mod with torque tab and foil mod. I like it, but I also think 250 came with 1.75 ratio. The Titus mod really carries the back of the boat, can run less positive trim for a more level ride.

Yeah baby, that's what I like on an efi. Havn't got that yet though.
