    V 150

I have a skeeter zx 190 with a v 150. Thinking about purchasing a phase 2 kit with lightweight flywheel. Approx. what wil the horsepower be and top end speed?

    225 to 230hp, with the right setup.......should see 7 to 10 mph.

    Re: V 150 (Wayne Worthy)

Wayne, would the HP gain be greater from a 200 ProV? I would assume it has a better CDI box and better crankcase porting right from the get go? AND bigger carbs!

Is it possible to run my 150 block, HT heads, 200 carbs, (along with the tuner, divider, like I have) to get some good power? Or would the addition of the 200 carbs be negligible?

These HP numbers are crank hp figures, correct?

depends on the year model? Please provide year model of your V150 and I can better answer your question. Thanks!

Thanks Wayne...if you haven't already seen..

    -excell tuner and divider
    -added 2 degrees timing
    -mains are 160/164

For this winter, I will get the heads (should have bought the ones on sale here last winter!!) and will look for 200 carbs if necessary.

And to Skeeter18, sorry to steal your thread!!
Hope we can both benefit from this!!

You already have 32mm carbs and the P200 carbs are 34mm but there is not enough there to justify the expense. The best bang for the buck is HT 8200 2.6L heads. Don't understand why you changed the jets.....not necessary until you install the heads.

    Re: V 150 (Wayne Worthy)

Tuner and divider and more timing not enough to change jets?

    Re: V 150 (87gtNOS)

I have a 1994 Pro V 150 and can't get my hands on a manual and would like to know how to adjust timing, adjust oil, etc. This is my first outboard but I have tuned car engines in the past. Kind of a gearhead but no experience with outboards. Any tuning recommendations from the experienced guys out there? Thanks.
