175 L/u on a 150

Is it possible to put a 175 l/u on a 2.6 150 Vmax ? I need more gear, mine is 2.0 and I belive the 175 is 1.85 or 1.75 anyone ?

Jim, you can do a gear change to 1.86.

Why change gears, why not change props? Wouldn't a new prop be cheaper?

Jim is hitting the limiter with a 30 pitch now and to keep prop effiecency gears would be better than going to a 32 or 33 pitch

I suggest you change them to 1.80 gears from the 225 hp Yamaha.......$1100
