My Yamaha see's only Yamalube.... But a lot of other people uses varies brands with no ill effects.
The best answer will be Yamalube 2M but, Mercury/Quicksilver Premium Plus, Evinrude XD-50 and a few others will do well.
When you are really very good at something you do, ever noticed how people seem to always find a way to come around to see how you do it?

Let the games begin!!Sorry the great oil debate really doesn't seem to have a right answer for everyone. There are a bunch of threads on this here are just a couple.

It's a ford vs chevy or a skeeter vs the other crap kinda thing.kidding really. Enjoy the reading it's enough to make your head spin. Personally I believe in Penzoil but that's just me.

Running the Pennzoil semi synthetic in my 05 225 yamaha and wont use anything else!! This is my third outboard and never had an issue with the oil.
I love these oil discussions. I think Castor 927 is the best smelling stuff out there.
The slippery kind as long as its TCW3 rated. I prefer synthetic only because it's cleaner running and smokes less
