i was checking out my motor and noticed a screw on this switch but nothing was goin to it and no loose wire in the area and was wondering what it was. is it the pressure switch, or a temp switch. i thought the pressure switch was on the injector manifold

That is the oil pressure switch! Without it being hooked you will not get a no oil signal. The wire that goes there comes from the EMM, it is a white striped wire but I cannot tell what the other color is.

we searched and searched and there is no loose wire and i don get any alarms, even when i had the software hooked up to remove code 57 there was nothing else. i went to evinrudes website and pulled the part page and it shows this as the pressure switch. its dark out but i found a picture here on bbc of the same setup where you can see the pressure switch.

the wire tha is on the bottom of the picture is said to be the pressure switch according to the evinrude website for my motor

To find the wire look at your EMM ( on the back of the block) there are two large connectors on the starbord side of it. Look at the top connector it has 4 rows of wires, the row closest to you is numbered 1 - 6 bottom to top. #2 is the wire you are looking for! As best I can tell from the wiring diaghram it is white with a tan stripe. I believe the # is stamped on the connector. Hope this helps.

That picture is NOT from a 2004 225HO, it is from a 1997 or 1998 V6. There is a wire that attaches to the oil pressure switch.

How come you are working on such and oldie, or are you just seeing if we know what we are talking about ?

Now those last pics show what you have on your motor and that style does not use a pressure switch like shown in the first pic. Yours has a pressure sensor that transmits the type of pressure peak to the EMM

Someone installed a 2001 or earlier oil pump on your motor and that is why it has the pressure switch on it.

That's so strange. I have the same thing on my 2005 200 HO DI. My mechanic thought I was missing a wire too but then we found out that I had a pressure switch. What's baffling me is he told me that the EMM shows a no oil alarm code on it but I am pretty positive I didn't hear it. I just got done rebuilding my power head so I need to make sure I'm getting a signal for no oil.

Having that switch on the oil pump may be from left over stock and used on the early BRP built FICHTS - 2002 and later.

IF you order a new oil pump today or see the later model FICHTS or DI engines, there is a plug or a solid casting where the pressure switch used to be mounted.
