    Water Question

I broke my ear flaps the other day and I was wondering if I could hook the water up to the side of the motor to just let the motor idle. I have seen my friend hook his motor up this way on his gulf boat to flush the salt water but I was unsure if it would push enough water or not. My motor is a 2001 150 Vmax. Thanks in advance.

You mean only on one side of the foot.....Wouldn't do it.

Or do you mean too the hose connection coming from the motor .....Idle only

I would read your manual about that to be sure but I think extended running like that it may over heat. You can look at your manual on line using the link in the yamaha forum.

My owners manual states that is only for flushing the motor, not to be used while motor is running.

I think you better hook up ears on your water intake , otherwise you will probably ruin your water pump also.
