    2000 Yamaha 150 V-Max RPM redline

    hey guys, i had this in general discussion but they told me to come over here, i have been running my yamaha between 5500 and 6k but there is no redline on the tack so i was just wondering if i am over reving it or where this engine redlines at?

    By the book, it's 5,500 RPMs. Most people prop theirs to run just a little over 5,500 when they have a light load, probably around 5,700 or 5,800. That way when you have fish in the livewells, a partner, and are full of fuel it will be at 5,500.

    I had an '85 150 that I ran around 5,900 with a lite load, and fulll of everything it ran about 5,650-5,700.

    The rev limiter should be at about 6150 rpms. Those with a lot of knowledge indicate to prop your boat to run WOT between 5800 to 6100. You are not over-rev'ing at 6000.
