    SHO numbers....

Lets get some numbers on the SHOs. I am curious from boat to boat...would also like to know what everyones water pressure is at WOT. Can't find any specs in the manual for minimum needs...

I'll start, mine is still in break in at 4.5 hrs so no long runs at WOT yet

    2011 Triton TR-20 XS 250 SHO
    V MAX Ventless 25"
Air temp high 90s with high humidity
    Water temps 90-92
    Half tank of gas
    One person (275 lbs)
    Light tournament load
    14 PSI WOT
    72.7 MPH 5900 RPMs

    Re: SHO numbers.... (microsalmo)

I got my Phoenix 719/225 SHO up to 70.2 for about 3 seconds before I had to back off. I'm a novice (high speed) driver and have to respect the power until I get more seat time. I'm at about 12 psi water pressure and 5800 rpm. This was with a full tank of gas, livewells half full ALOT of tackle and two guys at 360-ish lbs. I'm sure it'll go up as I get experience, adjust the jack plate and get more than 6 hours on the motor.

    Re: SHO numbers.... (flippinout)

My 200 SHO on a Bass Cat P2 has run 77.8 at 6000 RPMs spinning a 26P stock Fury. I was at 1" below pad. I backed it down to 2" below pad for tourney loads and see 73-74 at 5900. Water pressure has never been an issue at 15-18. Let's just say the other brands with 225s don't like me and some of the 20' 250 combos don't either. Don't be afraid to run these SHOs high on the plate.

2010 Bass Cat Eyra / 2011 250 SHO, 1700lb, dual console, rear saddle gas tanks
    Air temp 93°, Alabama waters
    28-30 gallons of gas
    One person (225 lbs)
Every compartment stuffed, 15 Rods and Reels, heavy plastics and baits in the rear.
    17 plus PSI WOT
81.2 MPH 6176 RPMs single, 26p Fury, minor current helping, 2" below pad
80.9 MPH 6125 Rpms single, 27T1, no current, slack water, 1.5" below pad
    79.1 MPH 6025 Rpms two people, (225 & 275lbs), 27T1, No current, slack water, 1" below pad

    All bench marks Gps recorded.

Getting Hyd. JP to spin a 29T1 hope to raise to even pad to gain back any lost rpms with larger pitch prop.

    Fly,

Unless you have the lower modded for low water pick up be careful and watch water pressure closely when you start raising it up

These are all great numbers and demonstrate that four bangers have the punch to meet bass boaters performance needs.

The best I have seen so far on my Puma FTD with 250 SHO has been 76.4 with 2 big guys about 35 gallons of gas and all gear turning a 26 pitch fury with all holes plugged at 5900 rpm's in 75 degree air temps and just about the same water temps. Larry Brumley

Your numbers are the one I would like to hear about. I am thinking about a new XB 21.

I have yet to put a good prop on it and I have been unable to fish the last few weeks but I have been 86 loaded with two people. I'm confident with a good prop I can hit 90 two people loaded to fish. I'm also waiting on my gear case to come back from Robbie Patterson although the mods are primarily for handling he says they usually gain 2-4 mph.

Thanks to Fly for a beautiful hydromotive I hope to have some numbers soon.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions

    Re: SHO numbers.... (Flyswatter)

I was wondering when you were going to post some numbers. Pretty good numbers for this kind of heat and humidity.

    Here's mine.
    27 T-1 @ 2 1/2 below the pad, 5900 RPM's and 77.9 GPS
2 guys, packed full of tackle and gear.
50 gallons of gas but empty livewells.

Hot weather and same prop and set up, I am still right at 75 mph but only turning about 56-5700 RPM's. I have never seen my water pressure get below 15 psi at WOT. It's usually between 18 and 22 psi.

I am still messing around with props and set up, fixing to try a 28 Bravo 1 and if that don't cut it I'll break down and try one of the new FXP props by turbo.

I am running a 250 SHO on a blazer 202. Turning a 29T1 in cooler weather at 5880 r.p.m. 84.8 mph. That was 1 person full gas but no water in livewell. Right now I am running a 27 txp tournament load 5700+ rpm and i can touch 80 mph.

Smokedem, that is what I wanted to read.

How high on the pad were you?

Did you have to work the prop any? Oh, fantastic numbers too. Congrats!

    Re: SHO numbers.... (bdub)

FX 21, 76 mph during winter full load 1/2 tanks and one person. Summer 73-74 mph same load 2 people. Typically turning 5700-5800 rpms. Water pressure used to be around 20-22 since the Yamaha update to the screens I'm running around 18. Yamaha 25 T1 15 1/8. As of now my prop is damaged I hit a pole and really tore up 2 of the blade edges. Anyone recommend a prop that will bring up my top end? I plan on sending out this prop having it fixed and blueprinted.

    Re: SHO numbers.... (paskeeter)

Since you have a FX series Skeeter and a SHO, I would see if I could get one of the new FXP props from Turbo/Yamaha. They are made for the SHO and the FX series Skeeter Hull. I'm fixing to try a 28 Bravo 1 on my boat and if it doesn't work then I'll be purchasing a FXP prop.
