    Gauges

Trying to hook up Livorsi gauges and being told from Livorsi that I have to supply the micro-c cable???? is this the NMEA 2000 cable thats comming from the engine? Any help would be great.

I just did this on my boat...you need the lowrance nmea network cable p/n 120-37 that hooks up under the engine cowl assuming you have an engine that supports nmea.

What type and year is your motor.

you should be good to go then. Depending on what you want to read you may need some more parts for instance to get water pressure you need a part that converts the pressure to a digital signal.

Here is how I hooked mine up:

    Livorsi Vantage view for:
Tach (you have to have this it controls everything)
Speedo (you need a gps signal for it to work)
    Trim
    Water pressure

    Plain analog gauges for:
    Jackplate
    Fuel

You can get analog and digital in the same size/color/style

It was easier to use the analog for these rather than hooking up everything needed to tie it into the yamaha system. On something like a skeeter where it already supports the command link it may be easier I don't know.

Once you have the tach hooked up which is the brain fir the system it will read all the engine parameters available.

You can network lowrance units to the system and read data on them as well and also use them for the gps signal. If using lowrance you need to tie the 0183 network send wire to the speedometer. One way or another you will need a gps antenna of some sort to get the speed. Livorsi sells one or the lowrance puck will work I'm not familiar with hummingbird but their may be a way to pull the signal from them.

So if I have a Lowrance puck I will not need the Livorsi gps puck? Does this just plug in using the Lowrance T... Also Livorsi said that I would need the control pod. Did you have to use this?

You will need the control pod but not the antenna. I'm pretty sure you can use the puck by itself or if you have it hooked to a graph you can take the signal from it. you will need a diagram from lowrance to see what wires in the puck to hook up it does not use the nmea "T" it uses the 0183 network.

On another note I am very glad i went with the livorsi over the yamaha gauges I think they are ugly and hard to read plus I just like the look of the analog style gauges. I will take a picture of mine for you.

So will the 0183 network splice into the lowrance wire itself? Sorry to be so blind on this....

the 0183 wire will hook to the speedometer or the tach I don't remember which one but the livorsi instructions were pretty clear on that. It has nothing to do with the nmea network. On the graph it will be the extra wires that are tied in with the power plug and they have a tag on them that says 0183.

I looked on the lowrance site at the lgc 2000 manual and see that it only has the nmea plug. I'm not sure it will work in this case by itself you would probably have to call lowrance or maybe post this question on the bbc lowrance page.

What model graph do you have?

I have the LMS-332 and will be changing out soon to the HDS 7. Thats the next project. I have the wires with the 0183 wires for fact I saw those over the weekend when messing with everything else. I also have the 2k style puck but also have a new 3k if that will work.

You are good to go then all you need is that 0183 drop and to get it to transmit you will probably need to go into the graph and turn on the 0183 outputs. Just hook the puck into the nmea network like you would normally do. You will probably need a couple extra Ts to hook everything up. If you don't already have a network set up now is the time to do it.
