03 hpdi tilt/trim trouble

My trim is bleeding down very slowly. Im going to pull it out and see if I can diagnos the problem. Im thinking its something to do with the manual releif valve on side the pump. My question is can I get the trim unit out without removing the engine? Just looking at it there seems to be enough room to get it out.

I have to ask did you make sure you relief screw is tight.

Be sure to check the O ring on the manual release valve .
