how much to do maintenance used 225 ox66

    I'm looking at a boat with a 2002 ox66 225.
Assuming the compression checks out, how much am I looking at to completely get the motor up to spec?
fuel filters, spark plugs, water pump, o2 sensor?, fuel lines replaced, etc.
What should a good compression reading be?

    Thanks,

Dealers charge about $90 per hour in labor + parts. Replacing the fuel lines will be the most time consuming. You can do all this yourself and save about $500 or more. Add a 10mic 90gph water separator filter to the bilge area and change LU lube also.

The OX 66 is a great motor, the biggest glitch with them is the low pressure fuel pumps and the O2 sensor. Check the main clear bowl filter and the VST filter. Next would be the impeller and lower unit fluid.

The low pressure pumps are 30-40 dollars each and it has 3 of them.
The VST filter can usually be cleaned and re-installed unless the previous owner never cleaned it.

One other thing would be the fuel injectors, they need to be flow tested and calibrated from time to time.

Compression should be somewhere around 120 PSI. If you are going to run ethanol blend fuel then make sure the fuel lines are alcohol/ethanol rated and as Rich said, add a 10 micron 90 GPH fuel/water separator between the fuel tank and the primer bulb.

Last but not least, run a good de-carb product and fuel additive with every tank of fuel.
