Outboard still being worked on Should I be pissed or just smile and wait

I needed a place to vent and ask a question. I made an appointment or so I thought in April(3rd week) to drop my boat off for some maintance and replacement of the water pump scheduled for May 5th. My boat is a ranger Z21, and outboard is a 250 HDPI. No ranger dealer close by and this shop is in it's first year for servicing yamaha by factory. It's now May 24th and still not done. I have called every week and he claims parts and on the phone with factory are the delays. How should I handle, I don't want to piss off, haven't gotten the bill yet. There is no other place really to take that's close by that has a good rep.
    Thanks for listening,

    Ranger Z21/Yamaha HPDI 250

I would be pissed.. A water pump job takes about an hour max to do.

I think I would go get my boat. Waiting on parts? That should be a part they stock and is readily available through Yamaha as well as any other maintenance part.

Parts hae been shipped from Yamaha, took a week for them to be shipped per dealer. Not happy at all. Need to learn to do all the filters myself for next time.

Water pump is easy to do also. Buy you a good repair manual and you can do a lot of the simple stuff yourself.

you can purchase the OEM water pump from many places. You can even purchase on-line. I would talk to the owner and ask how he would deal with a supplier taking 3 weeks to work on his equipment that he needed to be using often.

    Good luck,

I would tell him to put down the crack pipe and back away from my boat!

I would go by and see if they have even started on it. It is probably sitting on the back lot and they've run a bunch of boats through in front of you. If they haven't started on it I would pick it up and take it somewhere else even if I had to drive a ways to get it fixed!!

I dropped my boat off at the shop the night before, and
was ready to go by noon the next day., even if they are
busy they can usually work the small jobs in between the
    big jobs.
