Here is the part I'm referring to:
"I just had my mechanic do an annual on my 200 HPDI. When writing up the work order I requested that he replace the bulkhead mounted filter with a Racor. He then pointed out three fuel filter elements that had been removed from their casings that were sitting on his desk. The largest of the three was the Yamaha 10 micron. Next to it was a Racor with a pleated element roughly half the size of the Yammi. Next to that was a Sierra element, which was about 1/3 the size of the yammi. All three were pleated paper filters. It makes sense that the filter with the most area can collect the most junk before totally clogging. The yammi 10 micron wins that battle hands down. Given the tank cleaning effects of E10, I believe that sludge/varnish/aluminium corrosion is a greater threat to my engine than water. Taking my mechanics advise, I went with the Yammi filter. I will admit to ordering 2 additional filters to store in my oh Sh!?$$! kit for backup.
FYI - my mechanic also suggested changing filters every 25 - 50 hours for the first few tankfuls after the E10 changeover. I'll let you know how that goes."
A good price here:
