Your boat ready to run is going to be around 1700 lbs without a driver. My 2000 model was 1685 (side slide plate, 14.5 inches of setback with hydraulic plate, prop, helmut, ect...). My setup in DSRA racing had to weigh 2050 lbs, so even counting my body weight, I still had to add a significant amount of weight. If you want to seriously 1/4 mile race, you'll need a good 22 pitch prop. My boat really liked the ET best, but a yamaha drag ran close. Ideally, you'd want to lose the rev limiter, which brucato can easily do for you. You also really need 24 volt trim for proper holeshots.

Most lakeracer boats that I was around a few years ago were running a 22p prop on 2:1 gears for 1/4 mile racing. The races are won on holeshot and first 400 feet or so,,,especially with heavy boats.

I never did much topend stuff, but my boat ran nicely with 28 ET for just playing around. Randy Tisdale, out of Louisiana, has probably done the most topending in this boat that I'm aware of. You may look him up sometime.

    Good Luck

22 Yamaha with 1.87's is the way to go if you are going to be in the 17-1750 lb. range and are willing to turn it in the 10,000 RPM range which you will have to do to be competitive.

Guys he is buying one of my cut power heads... It is real strong.. He is going to have his hands full on the big end.
The pad has been worked, and still has a lip. I worked the sporty too... This motor spun 10,300 with a 21 on my drag boat in 660' @ 101. Went 123 with a 28, and had plenty left. He is going to have a monster 03. I want the rev limiter to keep him safer.... I have the software to program the acu.. He went 100 with a wore out 280. I think he has a shot at 110, if he has the marbles, and we get the boat set up proper to run those speeds.. The 03 doesn't like to go that fast.. I'm setting it up, so I will be looking out for him!!!!!!!

We are going with a 15" mid too. The 03 will look good with a 15" on the back.

110 in his 03 is going to be down right scary. You guys be careful and recognize when you reach the boats limit. Keep us updated, I don't think anyone has been to those numbers in a long time if ever in an 03.

I agree I told Shane the samething. I know of one that went 107-109, and it didn't have a lip. I told him the 03 doesn't like to go that fast. The big console gets a lot of air pressure, and even more pressure on the star side.. He is staying with the alien cowl, which is going to block more air as well.lol this cut motor and 28cc heads is going to have the hp to do it, and his boat is a little lighter than the average 03 according to Allison. we will see what it Can actually do.
I decided I was going to slow down this year, that isn't working out so well...

We will see what it can handle. I know the ss is a handful a 110. It is going to take some set up time, and may not be drivable at 110. I know some GS that run 105-106. Can't be worse than those things.

    Time will tell.

I'm topped out empty and loose at 96.7 and that's fast enough for me. I'm going for holeshot this year... Good luck keep it hooked up flat and see what it's got. Strap some go pros on for the runs!

I have driven my 02 comp 116 with a modified drag motor. 109 with a super stock 280 with drag electronics. my 02 will run a 100 with 2 guys and a fishing load.
I have been in the 120's in my drag boat... I feel reel comfortable at a 100 mph in a Allison. The more you push them the harder they will bite for sure.. I have hooked them over a 100 too. I have set plenty of allisons up, and we are going to give it a shot.
Shane says it was on a rail at a 100, and he doesn't have a lot of seat time in an ally. he cut his teeth on hydrostreams, so he is use to wheeling one... Should be some fun anyway.

I started puckering right here in my seat thinking about 100 in an 03. Good luck to both of you and BE SAFE. Also I would really like to come up and see it run sometime when he gets it dialed in.

It may be a little different with all that power?? My little PM was screaming and my seat cushion was about to my throat before I got there lol. It took me a good 9-10 miles of flat river and no wind. I was even with the pad with a 29 worked ET at 76-7700 nothing in the boat but my bucket seat and 45lbs of shot bags in the back of the rod locker, I'm 185 lbs. I'm not to sure I'm interested in doing that to often, it was fun but at what I feel like the limit of my boat. I've talked to Roy about his 280 and I may still pull the trigger one day. For now I'm gonna mess around with coming out a little faster and be done. There is a thread over on AllyOwners started by Catfish. If you PM him he'll give you the low down but you can just see the pics for yourself on reaching the limit of an 03. I just don't think the are the boat but I'm not gonna discourage you. Let her stretch her legs and be safe and she holds in there.
