I have a 1985 90hp (90ETLK) that needs work and have the opertunity to get a 1991 85hp ( C85TLRP) that needs a lower unit, would any of the parts from the 90 hp work on the 85hp, such as the lower unit and such???

With 6 years between the engines, I doubt it.

Go to http://www.boats.net and check the part numbers on both motors that you want to swap out and that will tell you if they will interchange.
