    Water in oil tank

The other day I took off the cap to add oil to my remote oil tank and when I took off the cap I noticed what looked like water bubbled up on the inside of the cap and were it threds in. I have a 2005 etech 225 ho on a 21x triton. I wiped up all the water I could with a rag and added new oil to the tank. Is this just condensation getting inside somehow and should I be concerned?

    Thanks,

Re: Water in oil tank (fishinski)

Use a turkey baster and a glass jar. Take a sample from the very bottom of the tank where the water lies. Let the sample sit in the jar for a bit and see if you see a line that separates the water from the oil. Putting an 8" length of fuel hose on the end of the baster makes it easier to "swish" around the bottom of the tank.
