Motor Warranty

I've got an 08 250 series 2 and I'm positive I blew the lower unit today...Is it covered under the motor warranty?

if there is no impact damage im sure it is. if you hit something then your collision insurance will cover it.

Yeah I was 7 miles out in lake michigan, it has to be the lower unit i put it in gear and it will spin but if I give it gas it still spins the same speed also if its in either gear I can turn it the opposite direction very easily by hand...sound like the lower unit? The big motor wouldn't get me anywhere so I had to hold my ground and wait for help with my trolling motor.

might have spun the hub on your prop

Should it spin backwards when in gear? I can feel the unit engaged, I will change the prop to check though.

confirmed, blew up the lower unit
