    new yamaha?

not the show but fairly new, I blew the left side out fishing this winter. yamaha says problem was not oiling on the left side... they replaced my 225 powerhead. now i go break motor in, and after the 10 hrs. break in period i cant get more than 5200rpms? same hull same prop same motor height...just less rpms. anyone have an idea? dealership cant figure it out and said drive the hell out of it all summer, and if it doesnt get better they will replace it this winter.

That's good advice. Go till you hear glass and smell chit. Warranty is great! But that is unfair to you and if you want your motor fixed now call the Yamaha Service rep. If you want to wait till winter then burn baby burn.

everything seems to be working fine. just no rpms. i figure i would rather run 62 all summer than be without a boat...will be going back this winter either way. Just really wanted to know if anyone else was having problems like this...

That would bother me knowing it is not turning the right rpms. I would contact a regional tech and get it looked at. Hate to have my boat in the shop if I could prevent it

Sounds like a fouled plug from the break in period. Change them all out first before you get nasty.

Was the new replacement power head fully dressed or did they just replace the block and used the old external components? I think you know where I’m going with this. Better check back with your dealer and have ‘em get it right.

replaced the block...not dressed. They went through the motor twice now and still can't figure it out. They say everything looks great. Plugs are definitely not fouled. Looks like a new one this winter if things don't start breaking lose. Have twenty hours on it since the break in and nothing has budged. I'm not getting my hopes up!
