TRIM SENDER dependent OIL FEED FUNCTION on a V-6?

Not quite sure who though up this one (and I'm sure someone here has seen it):

Customer bought and installed his own new oil pump (for the remote tank) since it wasn't feeding oil to the engine tank.

He comes in with the boat and says "the oil pump is no good". Well, yeah it is... feeds just fine with the manual switch.

Oil level sensor ok.... known good one tried anyway. No joy.

CDI unit controls oil pump on this model- known good unit installed: No joy.

Apparently, the CDI unit looks at the trim sender, and only calls for the oil pump to function when the engine is trimmed down. A heavily corroded bullet connector on the trim sender was causing the WHOLE PROBLEM- replaced all three connectors and now it pumps.

Don't frequent the Yami board much.... but this one was so "off the way" I had to share it.

Coming soon: Nav light dependent forward gear. If the nav light bulb fails, you remain in neutral (with only an anchor light).

Just to clarify... that part is a joke. But it does make more sense than trim sender dependent oil injection....
