HPDI 250 stuck in forward gear

I have a HPDI 250 when I took it off trailer it was stuck in Forward gear put controller in rev still went forward. Checked shifter shaft and it moves in motor and at top of lower unit.

Any idea of what parts I might need? If I bring it to shop it will sit there for week and then they will have to order parts. I need boat next weekend. It is local tournament so I don't think Yamaha trailer will be around.

Any one know of a go online spot.

sounds like the shifter cable came off. not much holding it on. a washer and a nut. if the nut isnt a nylon lock nut it can back off.it could also have come off in the control box. take the hood of and have a buddy shit the unit. the shifter cable is the 1 that allways moves first. if the shifter cable is still connected and dosent move its in the control box or maybe even a broken cable?

two things to check that happen often, first check where the cables come through the rigging grommet at the front of the cowling, right after they enter the bottom cowl there is a metal bracket that both cables slot into, make sure the black plastic "stay" clip that snaps over the top of both cables has not released and cables are out of there slot! next look at the bottom of the lower pan where the shift shaft goes through pan and make sure there is not a loose bolt laying in there around the shift shaft jamming it!!! see this often

All the linkages were fine. Took lower unit off then took it apart, thought that may be the shifter shaft was broken. Oil looked like the metal flake on my Ranger, not go. took hub out could see parts in lower unit. The shifter pin some how came out and bounced around broke teeth on 2 gears and bearing and main shaft from motor was bad. took a quick look for parts looked like to was going to be $600 to $800 for just parts and many were backordered. Ended getting on from eBay to get me fishing for the weekend.

Thanks for the ideas wish it was that problem.
