Sounds like limiter. Advertised at 6150, mine is actually 6225 on the laptop. There is some variance..........

Could this be poppit valve related? I fish in some very dirty water.
I'm noticing this problem also. I have had mined back at the dealer, and it does not show that it has ever over rev'ed. I even changed props, and it is still doing it some at WOT. The water here is 90's.
I've had this boat since febuary and use it regularly. Hasn't happened til now
