Seriously??? The Yamaha 4 strokes are a little heavy and don't have the torque that the comparable 2 strokes have, but they are very quiet, smooth and easy to maintain. They also have a track record of being VERY dependable.

Another vote for the 4 strokes being good. I loved mine, wish I had it back.

I asked this same question to the guys at the Yamaha booth when they were here at Clarks Hill lake with B.A.S.S. about a month ago.

I was told by the Yamaha guy (whomever he was) 'until we run out of carbon credits, we are only going to make the 175 in a HPDI, we already make the F150, but it's only a matter of time that we make a 150/175 SHO'.

As far as the F150 ........ I've ran one on the inlaw's saltwater boat down in FL for a week. If that thing can survive my inlaw's it can survive anything. 'Maintenance' is a french word for them. Maintenance means 'keeping the gas tank full' for them.

I think a SHO 150 and 175 would be great. However, the current F150 will hold it's own to most 150 2 strokes.
