What size bolt and Washer go on here?

Just wondering what size bolt and washer go on here. When I got home from fishing I saw that the one side was missing a bolt at washer and I could not find a diagram of my motor( which is a 2001 200 hp OX66). I tried to take the bolt off, but I could not because the entire piece would turn and I was nervous about holding it tight with something because it might have damaged the rod that goes through. Thanks. The first pic is of the bolt and washer where they should be on the one side, and the other pic is what it look like with them missing.

My book is for a later model engine, but probably the same. It says it's an M8 X 16MM bolt with washer. Manual says to use LockTite 242 on the threads. Somebody didn't use the LockTite it appears. Good Luck!!

I have the book for the 2001 200 HPDI and it also says M8x16mm bolt with washer. I would think the bracket would be the same as yours since it's the same size and year.

From looking at the diagrams, the bolt on either end just threads into that rod that runs from one side of the bracket to the other. It looks like you will use a wrench on the opposite bolt to hold and tighten them both into the rod. That would also explain why it is free spinning when you try to tighten the one you have now.

Just a suggestion. When adding loc-tite 242 instead of putting it on the bolt threads put it in the back of the hole. That way when you tighten up the bolt the air in the bolt hole will not blow the L-T off the threads which will result in no L-T on the threads at all.
If you are adding to a bolt that will have a nut on it then putting it on the threads are fine but a blind hole the L-T should go in the back of the hole.
