    97 ProV 150 bogging down

was at the lake Monday evening and when loading the boat on the trailer went to give her gas to push on up on the trailer she bogged down and died on me. I started it back up, gave it the gas and it went right up on the trailer. Went back out this evening and she was idling a bit rough then a couple of time when going up on plane she would bog down I would let off the gas then give the gas back to her and she would come up on plane and run. Had trouble with it again when loading on the trailer, she did not die this time but did bog down bad. Could this just be fouled plugs? Any other ideas what it could be?

It could be the plugs, fuel pumps, fuel line or bulb, or it could be your carbs need cleaned. When was the last time you changed plugs?

I have a 97 Pro V and had the same problem. Previous owner had the wrong spark plugs in the motor. Verify you have the correct plugs and change them anyway. The correct plug # is NGK-B8HS 10.

Replaced the plugs and ran the boat today. The plugs helped the problem but did not eliminate it. Now there is a hesitation when i nail it to come up on plane. It will bog down and then off she will go. There was no problems when loading it back on the trailer. Thinking of replacing the fuel filter and maybe the fuel line. I did the check that is pinned at the top for the fuel pumps and don't think that is an issue.

I have a 1998, 150 that was doing the exact same thing. I changed the fuel pumps myself along with the plugs. Still bogged at top end. Took it to my local dealer and they cleaned the top set of carbs. She runs now like she was new. I read somewhere that the fuel pumps should be changed every three years. This was the first time I changed them. Not a bad job for the technically changed.
