Just wondering what brand of oil you would run in a 150 VMAX. I have no idea as this is my first boat. Is yamalube good or is there something better? Thanks.

Just sometimes hard to locate. Here where I'm at no local Yammie dealer so I run quicksilver..........
GO DAWGS
Your going to get alot of answers b/c everybody has had bad and good experiences w/ many differnt brands. They all are pretty decent IMO but my personal favorite is Amsoil HP Injector. My carbed 90hp Yammie doesn't smoke at start up at all running it unlike Yamalube or Quicksilver plus its readily available. I have seen instances were the carbon buildup on the O2 sensor in the OX66 EFI's cause a few problems but I've seen it also from some lesser quality oils such as Evinrude XD30, Resolute Marine, Lubrimatic, and various other conventional oil.
I ran quick silver in mine for the first 4 years as my dealer told me it was yamalube. I then quit buying from them and starting buying the real yamalube in the jug and it's started getting expensive at $30/gallon. So i switched to the regular Mercury 2 stroke at another dealer in town that has it in bulk. I know that QS is from Merc also but i refuse to buy/deal with my dealer so that's why i go else where.
YOU are not entitled to what I have earned!!!!!

I have used Quick Silver for years and its not expensive and you can find it almost everywhere.![]()
I have been using Quick Silver Premium Plus. BPS carries it along with most other retailers.
