    Are the Etech infomecials accurate

I've seen these infomercials a few times now.
    Are the claims made accurate?
The part when they had a both Yammie and Etech on the back of a boat was extremely surprising if both motors were propped right
Hoping some Etech owners could verify the claims.
I also don't see an Etech between the 90 and 200 hp.
    Too bad.
The SAFE mode looks real interesting.

Re: Are the Etech infomecials accurate (cyclone70)

I've driven that 29' Angler and it does perform just the way it shows. It will also plane out with the Yamaha dragging in water, not running, but it does take a bit to get it up on step.

The Yamaha is propped to 6000 rpm which is right at its upper recommended range. There are no gimmicks with that ad.

There is a new 115 E-TEC just announced that should be available sometime this summer. Others are on the way.

I've owned Johnsons since 1976 and are very comfortable with them.
Any idea what the pricing on the 115 might be?

Cyclone, i've already tried to find out a price on a 115 v-4 etec and it isn't available. The motor was just announced and probably won't be available until late fall or later. Right now BRP has all it can do to keep up with existing motor orders and new motor hp types will take a back burner.

Bombardier will not put any E-Tec on the back burner.

Ok, then where is my E-Tec 150 HO?

I want one so bad that I have started to pray for it now.

I don't know about the 150 HO, but the regular 150 and 175 are in the pre-production phase at the assembly plant. My guess it will be summertime when they are available.

Thank you, thank you Ba'wanna. I knew that my prayers would be answered sooner or later although, here lately it seems to be more later, than sooner.

Re: Are the Etech infomecials accurate (Hair Jig)

I just wished they would have have said something about the smaller e-tecs. They may not be as glorious as a big V6 but I bet they sell a whole lot more 40 and 50 horse units than 225's. Would have liked to se how they stack up against the smaller 4 strokes. And yes i'm jealous of the big boys.
