Wondering - how much more gas would a 2007 150 Vmax use vs a similar hp rated Hpdi, Optimax Etech motor? Would the newer style motors be worth the extra couple thousand dollars? Thanks in advance for info.

Opti will beat them all in fuel economy. However, a lot depends on how you drive. At WOT all the time, they all suck. The next motor I buy will be a 4-stroke...no more oil for me...
The HPDI will get WAY better fuel economy mostly in the midrange speeds but it will quickly taper off as you get to WOT. Remember it takes fuel to make horsepower. IF you make long runs down a lake than it would be well worth it as long as you run in the midrange speeds. Plus the HPDI won't smoke as bad as the carbed or EFI V-Max.
