    I need help

    I have a brand new Hydro tec motor it dynoed 342hp according to HT here is the problem my stock 250 ox66 yamaha ran 81-82 loaded then I got a 300x and went 88-89 loaded so I bought this motor and went backwards it only runs 77-78 loaded it is the same prop and load that I ran with the 300x the 300x ran 5900-6000rpm at 88-89 this motor can only turn the same prop to 5400-5500 and 77-78 mph had it checked by the local yamaha marina no cods and every thing checked out the compression is 135 on 5 and 136 on the other one any help would be great please dont say I should have kept the merc only respond if you can help thanks

    that is what wyane and I thought but it checked out fine it gotta be something simple it runs strong up to about 4500 then falls of

    Have you checked the medium pressure fuel pump pressure?

    If you look on top of the SVT tank there is a bicycle tire valve. Connect a 100 psi pressure gauge. turn on the key but do not start the motor. Your reading should be around 50psi. Turn key off and it should be about 40psi after 5 seconds.

    One of the problems with mine was it would not reach pressure and would drop off to fast. It was an o-ring that needed to be replaced

    The best thing is have the tech with his laptop as you run it wot across the lake.

    they checked the press. and said it was ok but I gotta get this figured out or it will go back to HT for them to figure out
