I'll be replacing my medium pressure fuel strainer in the spring. This is the filter which is a bit of puzzle to disconnect. Motor is a 225 hpdi.
My question is... how are the special fuel hose clamps connected?

Looks like it takes a crimping tool for that clamp.

Exactly.. i know a lot of people have changed the strainer filter... but on SIM yamaha they list that crimp as one of the items required when replacing the strainer.
I kess i'm just looking for some input from those who have changed the strainer out and what they did?

Go to any Auto Parts Store and ask for the a Injector Clamp. They have a flat edge and will not cut into a gas hose like a water hose clamp. No special tools needed to put it on, just a screw driver.![]()
