    Yamaha fuel/water seperator

I am purchasing my first Ranger with a 150 Yamaha, any thoughts about having a fuel/water seperator installed? I have run Mercury's for years without one installed and have never experienced any problems.
    Thanks

Well with the gas and ethonal we have these days, i would put one. It's $50 of cheap insurance. I have the carb 150 and put one on about a year ago. Anyone that responds to this post will recommend it.

Put the fuel/water separator on, you need it with todays gas. Mercury has put fuel/water separators on there motors sense about 1996 on the 3 liter motors. They are mounted under the cowling on the Mercury motor itself.

Apparently the mercs have one on the engine or at least that's what a friend of mine was told about his 175 opti... I have a 10 micron one on my hpdi though... good insurance for less than $100
