    Fuel Filter questions

225 HPDI (2008)- has around 45 hrs on it.

10 Micron filter is installed in the bilge, so with that said how often should I change the "low pressure" filter in the clear canister on the port side of the motor, and the high pressure filter on the starboard side?

I'm planning on changing them at 50hrs like the manual says, but I was wondering if having the 10 micron filter in line changes how often the others need to be replaced.

BTW....does anyone know the part number for the filter element that goes in the clear canister on the port side?

    Thanks

    Re: Fuel Filter questions (roybiggens)

I'm not sure when to change the other filters. I will change my 10 micron 100 hrs or once a year.To me when you install the 10 micron you should be able to go longer on the other filters, how long is the question. The 10 micron is a great filter that traps almost everything so who knows. Maybe someone can chime in with their thoughts.

To me it's not worth worrying about it and just change my filters a bit before they're due. (Due at 50, I change 40-45) We drive around in muti-thousand dollar boats and motors and put gas in at $3 a gallon. I hardly worry about the cost of filters; cheap insurance. Just change it when they're due and don't worry about it.
