I have 06 225 ETEC HO with about 5 1/2 hrs 4 1/2 tanks of gas and have gone through 4 gallons of oil. I've run the boat pretty hard with 8 trips of about 40 miles total each trip. Does this look about right for the oil com.

This sounds reasonable considering that you went thru break in. They love the oil at break in!!! Those are some pretty good trips. You could get a better idea of oil useage if you start now(after break in) and keep track of it. If you run past 5000 rpm, you will be in the full oil map on the engine, if you are in the cruising range, oil consumption will be better..
I have about the same hours on mine as you do. I'm into my 3rd gallon and it seems like it's started to go into the stingy mode. I'll track it and get back to you.

Go Sun Devils!
I went through 4 gallon in less than 10 hrs.- ended up with a oil pump problem- not to alarm you though- Gets expensive quick!
Did not keep a log regarding hours per,or gas per gallon~
I have a heavy foot so that may have something to do with the burn ratio also-
Chugbug, I ran exactly 52 miles yesterday. Rpm's were mostly around 4500, but probably 5 miles were at wot and 5800rpms. When I left the house yesterday morning the oil tank was full with xd-100. When I got home late last night, the oil tank was down 3/4 of an inch from full. My engine is a 2003 Rude 200 sitting on a 03 519 Ranger. Hope this helps!PS My engine has probably 25 hrs runtime on it.
