Question about changeing to Penzoil Synthetic

I have a 225 v max and have been thinking of changeing to penzoil synthetic because of all the plug fouling and cabon problems I have had in the last 3 years. When I change over , their will be a pint or more left in the oil container bolted on my motor . Will the penzoil mix with the yamahalube without haveing any problems?

I would find out why you’re fouling plugs and building excessive carbon. Sounds more like you oil pump linkage is not set to correct spec. I have a 225 HPDI and run Yamalube with excellent results. Our engines were designed to run on any quality TCW-3 oil. If your engine is fouling plugs and building excessive carbon, Yamalube is not the problem. In saying that I do believe there are better 2 Stroke oils that may burn cleaner. If I were to make the switch Amsoil would be the winner. I’m a believer in Quality synthetics and run then throughout my vehicles and small engines. I never made the switch to my outboards. I ran Yamalube in my last 130 for 16 years. Good enough for that one so should be good enough for this.

I did the same thing, YL to PZ, and had just a little left in the tanks. I had no issues, it should mix just fine.

When I started using the PZ synthetic blend, my carbon & plug issues stopped.

Re: Question about changeing to Penzoil Synthetic (slapshot)

I'd highly recommend doing a thorough decarb before changing.
Ya want to clean the internal parts as good as possible before switching from dinasour oil to 100% syntheitc!

I've been using Amsoil synthetic for over 10 yrs with awsome results!

I just ran it real low and dumped it in. You should be ok as far as a decarb goes if you have been runnning a carbon preventer/ cleaner. If not hit it with a good shock treatment of seafoam and run her hard before you add the syn. Thats all I did never had an issue. I think you will like the penn syn. compared to the yama lube
