Got a call from my last tech in training , he moved to La., He was on the water test running a twin rig. All i could hear was the wind and him giggling and rubbing it in my face that I havent touched one yet!

a 150HO has been installed on a skeeter 180 here in australia and has done 64mph on its 1st run, the BRP boys believe they will get 70+mph with some fine tuning

    Re: 60degree sightings (oceansmasher)

We place our order for them last year. We received a standard and a counter 25" 150 ETEC's. We are still waiting on 4 more from that same order. We are told some of the 200's we have on order will be shipping very soon. Production on the 115's started last week so they should be starting to ship shortly. They key is to be sure your dealer has put the information in so BRP knows its a sold unit. It will not be long before the backorder problem is caught up.

Without being rude is there any way of telling if my dealer went through the correct steps to insure a timely delivery

Do the 60 degree E-Tecs use the same lifting tool as the 60 degree DI's ? I want to be prepared when ours come in.

    Re: 60degree sightings (PUP)

Is that on an SX 180 or 190? The 180 is only rated for a 130.

Well, that would explain why it went 64 then. I little misleading to us over here. I wonder if they had a plate on that boat too? That voids warranty on the SX boats, but hell, I got one on mine

We delivered our first 150 ETEC today. It was installed on a 25 ft chawk loaded with commericial fishing gear. Did not get to water test due to a rush saturday install to get the man working agian. THe rigging is nice and neat under the cover and sounds awsome running on a flushet. He called me at home tonight and states its amazing. Will be doing a water inspection on Tuesday. Will post results and some pics.

I was told by a dealer this week that new orders were still up to 3 months out on the 150.

I still can't imagine a 150 getting a 25 footer on plane. What do you think the weight/deadrise is like on a 25 Chawk?

    Re: 60degree sightings (Dae)

THe chawk is a very heavy boat loaded with all the gear. His trips back to the dock the hull is full and I mean full of hundereds of bunker. Speed is not a issue with these customers. We have a very low pitch wheel installed so the enigne does not labor under a heavy load. His last engine a 2003 Johnson 150 gave him no problems that he did not cause himself. WIth 4200 hours on it, its still running. His problem is spending the $10,000 evey year on gas and oil. THe hours will rack up fast on this outboard. I will keep everyone posted.

    Re: 60degree sightings (johnrude)

I had my 150 rigged Pioneer 197 delivered on Friday.

I am absolutley delighted with it. I have pictures posted in the hull thruth photo section. Tell me how and I will post pictures here.

Here are some of my inital thoughts after about 5 hours of use.

I love the motor. Turn the key and it cranks. That's it. No choke, No fast idle, nothing but the key turn. Runs Very smooth . It idles at around 600 RPM and is remarkabky quit. No grinding when when I put it in gear. No smoke or smell of smoke as in a traditional two stoke.
All the power of 2 stroke, up on plane fast. At full throttle, two people can have a conversation at the center console.

    Re: 60degree sightings (brianalan)

Sorry guys it is actually a SX190, and yes we do have the limited HP rules that also apply for us, however I have seen an sx180 with a 140hp 4 stroke Suzuki doing the rounds on the aus tournament scene.
