    F150 break-in help

My friend and I misunderstood the manual for the break in procedure and instead of running the motor for (1st hr at 2000rpm) and the (2nd hr at 3000 rpm) with ran between 2000rpm and 3000rpm for the first hour and the second hour between 3000rpm and 4000rpm. For some reason thought the rpms were a minimum and maximum range. Most of the time was spent closer to the 2000rpm on the first hour and closer to 3000rpm on the second hour.

Does anyone know if this will hurt the engine during the break in period or is it a recommended rpm designed to put more load on the engine?

I'm sure it will be just fine. I think keeping a good load on it, and varying the rpms is actually more important than trying to stay at an exact rpm...JMHO

You'll be fine. Complete the required break in period, change the oil with a good synthetic, along with the oil filter. The F150 is one of Yamaha's best.

Shot me an Instant Message if you are interested in an oil filter cross reference list for the F150.
