    blown fuse on starter

    I blew the 100 amp fuse going to the starter while installing my batteries back into the boat after winter storage... Is this fuse something that my Yamaha dealer will have in stock or can you get these from any automotive store... I've never seen a fuse that looks like this one...

    Wholly Mackeral! You popped a 100 Amp fuse?? Sweet Jesus I didn't think they made a outboard fuse that high?

    It blows when you hook the battery up backwards. Don't ask how I know this.

    The VMAX efi engine part number is 61A-82151-00-00. It is a dealer part.

    Thanks, and yes when you hook the battery wires up to the wrong posts it blows right now... I did find their is a spare in the plastic cover so I could replace it while waiting for the new one to get here...

    Check inside the black fuse box on the drivers side, there should be extra one inside. I have a 2002 OX66 and there was a extra one.
