    power tilt

I'm a new boat owner, and only have taken the boat out twice since owning it. Today I was out on the water and the power tilt on the motor worked fine. But when I hit the gas and tried to get up on plane the motor would drop to its lowest position and I was not able to raise the motor in attempts to bring the boat up on plane. I was kinda thinking this maybe an hydraulic issue maybe low on fluids. The power tilt would work fine long as I was not under full throtle, also I have a foil over the prop which i was thinking adds downward force which leads me to believe that there just is not enough fluid to raise the motor under full throttle. Again if anyone can chime in and answer or help with some thoughts I would appreciate it. I've never owned a boat with hydraulics and such so i don't really know where to begin with trouble shooting. I have an sf 175 dx skeeter and my motor is a 150 yamaha 2stroke both are 91 models I believe, the motor maybe newer however. Thanks for those who take the time to add in.....

    Re: power tilt (regisn1985)

Not sure about your exact motor but i had the same thing happen to be on an older Yammie and it was a blown seal and yes it was low on fluid,it leaked some of the fluid out.If not that then maybe an electrical problem.
