I have posted on here before on the problems I was having with my 2005 225 hpdi motor. Basically two dealers looked at it and "replaced" parts that didn't need to be fixed. Well I take it to boating atlanta and the yamaha tech is there, so Lee asks him to look at the boat. Well after he got to looking he found that the trim rods needed to be replaced, the idle screw wasnt right, the throttle body linkige was wrong and some other rod in there was bent. The hotfoot cable wasn't adjusted right in the motor. THere a couple things I might be missing but that's the general synopsis of it. Well the Regionial tech told lee that all the things that were in the trim system and the linkage thing were not under warranty because they are parts that are supposed to be mainetenced and if it had been, then none of the stuff would have broke.I explained to him that we had just bought the boat not 6 months ago and bought the warranty and didn't know all this was wrong with the boat. So to cut this story short, I go and test ride with him today and make sure it's running good and he proceeds to tell me all the stuff that he put on my motor that he said he wasn't going to cover. He fixed EVERYTHING with it and told me that he was doing that "in good faith". He said well whoever worked on this boat before didn't know what they were doing, I told him who did but won't say on here unless you ask. But overall very please with Yamaha Customer service and David the yamaha tech, that man knows his stuff
Oh he also told me that if I have anymore problems to take it to Perry at HD marine, he talked very highly of him and it means something coming from a yamaha tech I think.
