Engine Problem (2001 VMAX 225 OX66)

I took my boat out this morning and it ran sluggish at idle speed leaving the ramp, and seemed to be smoking more than usual. I got it on plane with no problem, but at about 75% of WOT it stalled/cut-out but the engine was still running. I thought it might of been a fluke deal and it happened a second time, so used TM and put her on the trailer.
I ran it last weekend with the same tank of gas and had no problems.
I have had a problem getting it started from time to time when running from spot to spot.
Has anybody ever had this problem? Please help if you can, thanks for looking.

might need to clean to o2 sensor and vst
drain the vst and look at it
might be fuel pumps also
