    Shut Down Problem... HELP!!!!

I have a 202 blazer with 250 HPDI, when I run full throttle for awhile my engine shuts me down around 70 and and gets lower. After awhile I can go fast again then it shuts me down again, I think something is getting hot but I took it to the local marine shop and they hooked it up to computer and it didn't show any probs, does anyone have an idea whats causing this?? If something is getting hot shouldn't the computer tell us whats going on? it seems to be pumping out water fine i dunno.

If it was getting hot or close to overheating it would through an alarm, or at least it should. Is it a misfire like you’re losing a cylinder, or gradual decrease in RPM and speed like a fuel delivery problem?

well it's seems like it is gradual decrease in rpm and speed like a fuel problem, but why after it sets for awhile fishing I can drive it just fine again long as I don't go full throttle for 5mins or so constant???

Sounds like filters or water in fuel. With water in fuel you should get an alarm for that as well if you do not have a 10 micron inline. I would lean towards filters. Get tank low as possible, fill up and change out filters. If you don't already have one you may want to install 10 micron fuel/ws filter.

If you have changed the High Pressure filter recently you could probably leave that one, if not it is due.

My 02 OX66 250hp was doing the same thing. The float in my VST was stuck. The tank and filter were spotless, freed up the float, put it together and been running fine for 2 months now. Worth a try...........

ok I 'll try eplacing the bulb first then try the things you guy's have told me and I was tiold it could be the fuel pump, but if it eas the fuel pump you would think it would do it at 75mph and lower as well not just when I run 80.

    1. 10 Micron Fuel/WS filter. 2. Filter under cowl on port side under the oil tank. 3. High pressure filter inside VST. This is the aluminum tank in the top front port side You can do them all, the first two are very easy and the HP filter does not look too difficult, although I have not done that one yet. There is a diagram and instruction at the top of the page from another member. Good luck!
