    Yamaha Digital Gagues

Do the digital gagues have an hour meter that reads off the motor? I currently have analog gauges, but if I replaced them with digital, would I be able to read running time from the motor? Motor is a 2008 HPDI Series one.

Also, where is the best (read cheapest) place to get digital gagues?

    Re: Yamaha Digital Gagues (jgun)

The older digital gauges did not have an hour meter built in. I owned those before. I believe in 2003 the hour meter was added and I have that now... It does record running time total hours and you can re set another funtion for running time per trip, day, until you zero it out. You can not zero out the total hours...

Thanks Mike. If I add the digital gague later, will it show the current total hours on the motor or does it start counting when I add the gagues?

It starts counting when it's plugged in.... My motor can not be downloaded for hours/rpms etc... The HPDI can...

That's what I was afraid of. Is there any way I can read the hours from the motor or do I have to take it to the shop every time I'm curious. (NOT).

I would just have it read at a dealer and add an hour meter and keep track of your own from there... Make sure you get an hour meter that only counts "running" hours and not if you leave the key on...

On getting the digital information if you have a Lowrance depthfinder you can buy the NMEA2000 interface cable and display all the information on your depthfinder. If you want to replace your gauges the Lowrance LMF200 and LMF400 are really nice.

SSykes, I just ordered a full NEMA 2000 Setup with the interface cable for just that reason. One of the things I really wanted in the new boat was the digital gauges and the Yamaha gauges are just way to expensive. Those lowrance gauges are perfect in price and ability. Great idea! Got 2 of them on order now.
