    ProV 200 loosing plane

I got a question. I have a 200 Yamaha ProV that when going down the lake it just loses power like the fuel was just shut off. The last time I noticed the primer bulb looked like someone was squeezing it in ( compressed). I had replaced the bulb and fuel line from the filter to the fuel pumps in the motor, yet it still does this. I checked the filter, inside the tank and the vent to make sure all was ok and working. I have had the carbs rebuilt, new fuel pumps installed and changed out the fuel lines. It will only do this ( I have noticed ) if I am at WOT (or close to it) for several miles on the lake. As soon as this happens the boat looses power comes off plane and I can watch the primer bulb expand back out afterwards I can then power back up and contimue on down the lake till it happens again. Any idea what can be going on??? I have already spent over 1500 trying to get this fixed and still nothing....HELP!!!

    Thanks,
    DeSean

Its sounds obvious from you post that you have a fuel restriction inside your fuel tank. To verify this, run fuel from an external tank and see if primer bulb collapses.

Re: ProV 200 loosing plane (Rich Z)

I saw this happen on a 70 hp yamaha on a pontoon boat. We changed tanks, and the problem resolved. The problem turned out to be that the device in the tank/hose connector that pushes the check ball on the hose connector was bent, and was not pushing the ball back. Borrow a tank from someone and see if it works.
