excess smoke from pro v 150

Here lately when i crank my pro v it has been smoking alittle more than usual. Anyone know what this could be? I did just recently change to a different brand of oil, could this be the issue?

I will say, that it seems like it only does this when i run half throttle or less from one spot to another. If i run wide open or at least get the rpms up into the high 4's low 5's and then let it sit awhile and fish, then crank it, it doesnt do it near as bad.

Ive just been trying to save gas, thats the only reason for running low rpms.

One more thing, this motor drinks the gas, even when only running 3000-4500 rpms all day.

My Pro V 150 ,does the samething. When I first start it up it smokes but after a run and then on it doesn't. I have a guy in my bass club that is a marine tech, he said the pro v 150 is knwen to do these. He did say ran some Seafoam in it ever gas tank fill up, the carb could be a little dirty and seafoam will help.
