    hydrotech phase kits

i have a 2000 yamaha vmax 3.1 and want to get some blistering speeds out of this engine. i have heard that hydrotech offers 3 phase kits for performance possibilities. anybody used these and what kind of results have you gotten? i am running in the low 70's[gps] and i know i can get in the 80's with a little help. my boat is a 2000 xpress x21 dc and my engine is already equipped with a 13 pt. low water pick up (nosecone) from bob's marine out of florida. (25pitch hypertech prop)

    Re: hydrotech phase kits (chrissmith)

Nathan told me between 65-70 hp gains on that motor! 89-91 Octane Fuel.
Blue print the Hull! Look for any hooks in the bottom before transom!!!! This is a major deal with this boat! could get you 1 to 2 mph....
10" to 12" setback on that boat.
I had a 2002 with 10" Manual JP and was looking to get 2" spacer to set it back more. Ran a 25T1 Yamaha Prop and gained 3 mph over 25M Yamaha prop....

    Good luck Call Nathan

The octane is not the hp gain... HydroTec is the gain, and higher octane is needed if you modify your motor with a phase kit. http://www.yamaha-rebuild.com/phasekits.htm

we are talking aluminum here. sander metal filler
lots of dust and laying on your back for several hours.
check with straight edge as much as possible and
    repaint.

    Re: hydrotech phase kits (MIKER2702)

hey buddy! i am having trouble getting my boat speeds back up!!!!!!! i have had some engine work done but after talking to the mech. he said after changing props and adjusting the engine height it still acts like the boat is SUCKED to the water!!!! he said the bottom has a HOOK in it that is causing the boat from being allowed to FLY!!!!!! i have contacted xpress and waiting for return call. what do u recommend!!!! could u weld a solid pad to the bottom about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch thick about 4 ft. long to eliminate the hook??????? any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!
