What the **** is up with my PRO V 150?

I already posted my troubles that started during a day on the lake.. I lost my full power while cruising 46 mph. My speed just dropped.. The boat would not plane out.. After checking, 4 of the 6 spark plugs were fouled. The middle and bottom two on each side... I put in new spark plugs and it does the samed thing.. It appears the new ones have fouled as well.... Had compression checked and its 100 on every cylinder. The boat just runs slow and will not plane out unless someone gets on the front of it... I hate to put more plugs in it... Any suggestions???

Do you still have the precision blend oil injection hooked up? That would be my guess as to the fouling of the plugs.

I doubt the plugs are fouled. 2 stroke plugs are always looking fouled and wet. I bet the carbs need cleaned/rebuilt. And or you need new fuel pump diaphrams installed. Those are cheap and easy for you to do yourself.... Contact boats.net for a good deal on parts.

I still have the oil blend hooked up. This happened in the middle of a day of fishing. It will only top out at 40mph now, where it would run about 57-58mph.???

It wouldn't look brand new if it was running good 1/2 the day..

Maybe you did not have the sparkplug boot on good.

Re: What the **** is up with my PRO V 150? (21XDC)

The water pressure line had a hole in it and shooting water inside the motor.. I replaced the spark plugs again, ran some carb cleaner through the carbs and took it to the lake. It ran better. It turned between 4800 and 5300 rpms. it would only turn 3500 or so before. I am going to try and splice the hose with another fitting and fix it... There is black soot all over my prop now.. So, what about decarboning the engine????

Yes it seems to be firing now.. The mechanic wants to decarbon the engine...Also, is there something i could run in the fuel to clean up the carbs and help the carbon buildup? I was told to use Sea Foam?

yep, sea foam. you can also decarb it yourself with seafoam. I've seen the instructions on how to do it posted on these boards somewhere.

Well I ran a whole can of Engine Tuner through the motor this morning... It looked like my motor was on fire with all the smoke coming out of it... I let it set about a hr then went and ran it.... I revved it in neutral and racked it pretty good and after about 30min and smoking some more WOW this engine ran the best it has ever ran since i have had the boat.... Evidently there was a bunch of carbon built up in it... I am still going to run the sea foam in the fuel tank, but it that engine tuner spray helped a BUNCH!!!
