Prop selection on a VMAX 150

I'll be picking up a Stratos 294 with a 150 VMAX on it. The dealer has a tempest 23 plus on it. Does anyone have experience with this set up that could offer advice for this prop or maybe a better one? I was going to get a 4-blade to have one but didn't know where to turn for advice except here. Thanks

    Gary

Thats the right prop... Unless you want a 23M Pro series yamaha prop. They will perform almost exactly the same. A 23 tro4 or 23 trophy would be a good 4 blade... The 3 blade will be faster by 1-2 mph.

I think a 23 pitch will be better suited for you, as it will allow the engine to spin higher rpms.

Re: Prop selection on a VMAX 150 (PSM207)

I'm turning about 5700rpms, Its the carb mdl v-max 150 not hpdi. The prop is worked by mark. gps is anywhere from 59-62 depending on load. I dont run a jack plate.
